Group Therapy

Group therapy currently offered at Ficus ~

Women’s group  ~  This is a weekly, ongoing process group for women, specifically mothers who are raising difficult-to-manage children.  We explore issues related to parenting styles, personality styles, childhood patterns of development, neurobiology of brain functioning and the effect of trauma on our brains as we grow.  Support is freely offered through sharing, validation, and trying out other strategies to manage difficulties.

Adolescent girl’s group  (AGG !) ~ This group is currently being formed for girls ages 13 – 17, and will launch by end March.  Therapeutic focus will encourage the successful navigation through developmental stages of early-mid-and late adolescence, including emotional awareness and regulation, increasing competency and self-esteem, identity cohesion, interpersonal respect, compassion, and conscientiousness.  Members will explore active and effective coping skills to manage stress, anger, depression, anxiety, grief, and inattention/hyperactivity.
